FlutterDash is one of the more odd friendships in the show, because they're such polar opposites. Anytime the two interact, there's a 50/50 chance that Fluttershy's demeanor will be a source of endless frustration for Rainbow.
I really like the shading in this piece; there's more of a gradual fade than what is normally seen on the show. I like how Rainbow Dash seems surprised at the butterfly that's landed on her face, like she's not sure how she should react.
The butterflies are really nice to look at too, though they do stick out a little because of how much detail they have next to the ponies, as well as how different they are to the butterflies that are actually in the show. It's also hard to tell that they're supposed to be younger than normal. Still, it's an adorable and serene pic, so no complaints there.
i like how you drew the eyes and the ponies look good. fluttershy is bucking adorable and RD is soooo cute. the butterflies fit really nice in the picture as well. the ponies look nice and identical to the show. the picture is all around BEAUTIFUL! the manes look very good as well. i really love how the grass and the flowers look. they are a cute friendship together, being they knew each other from when they were little fillies. i also love the color you have in the picture. i have no complaints whatsoever. anyway, i say i would give it 10/10
To me how the tails seem to flow so cleanly out of the pony's crotches is rather funny. I think it is rather too perfect, like the pony's lied down carefully, and you, the guy doing the photo shoot, had some intern arrange the hair just so. I think skewing the hair from the base either left or right would look more natural. Imagine you had long hair in a ponytail, and you flopped down one the grass heavily. Wouldn't your hair swing to the left or right when you laid down? Wouldn't it be all messed up and tousled? Would it lie perfectly behind your neck? Anyway, on a different note, I appreciate the clarity of colors, and how each color is distinct from the rest. The yellow pony's eyes sparkle just right.
Also, I see what jasondash is saying. I agree that Rainbow Dash's eyes should be a little more crossed to make it more apparent that she's looking at the butterfly, but I suppose that's only if you did intend that.
I don't know if this was you're intention not to do so, but i think you could have made RD's eyes look down and cross a bit so it looks like she's looking at the butterfly a bit more directly. (But that can be more of a preference thing.) I think you did the lighting rather well, (maybe a bit bright for Fluttershy but I'm way to overcritical in this regard). The wings look different from the show and I really like how good you drew them here, especially compared to the show. (That's something I've noticed in the show, is how simple the wings are. you seem to have given it a little more complexity and realism and that really stood out to me). Overall, a very nice piece. For me it was a instant download. (I hope I wasn't too overcritical) :/
